As its name implies, the site of The Eagle’s Cliff is more comfortable for our National Bird than the placement of a luxury residence. Hence Portfolio’s design challenge here was to site
this home on an exceedingly difficult, yet fabulous, Windcliff lot with unparalled views of the Continental divide. Accordingly, a one-room-deep Plan was developed, allowing main living spaces to be streched along the Continental Divide views and opened up to each other, intimately connected to abundant decks and outdoor living. For example, the luxurious Master Suite is designed along 35 feet of glass, offering a spectacular connection to this Rocky Mountain site. Also unique to this design is the use of two Stair Halls, one for guests, and another for the private use of the Owners. Each captures stunning views of the Continental Divide at their landings (pictured above). The entire one-room-deep composition is united with generous trussed and timbered ceilings evoking a Western Lodge-like feeling.
