Tip Top Ranch is located on a spectacular 11-1/4 acre site in the historic MacGregor and McGraw Ranch area of the Estes Valley. Portfolio’s challenges here were to capture the unparalleled views into Rocky Mountain National Park, to respect the historic architectural context of McGraw Ranch Road, and to address the requirements of a very client-specific architectural program. The Exterior combines elements of the Rustic Arts & Crafts style with log and timber accents.
This theme of rusticity is carried inside with heavy-timbered trusses, wood ceilings, and other Western details ... then relaxed with a Palladian-like Atrium and Classical colonnades, niches, and graceful curves. These Classical elements are employed to showcase the client’s collection of Korean chests, a Japanese folding screen, and other works of Art.
